Leading Kent law firm, Stephens & Son, marked the start of a year celebrating 222 years of service to the community by unveiling its new livery on 1st May 2015.
The Chatham based firm can trace its history back to the first Mr Stephens, who practised in 1793. He lived in Maidstone and rode up and down Bluebell Hill every day, to Chatham armed with two pistols for protection against highwaymen!
As well as the birth of the firm, 1793 also saw the introduction of the £5 note, the execution of Louis XVI and the laying of the Capitol building's foundation stone, by George Washington. Since then, Stephens & Son has seen many changes in the world, several wars and many, many British Prime Ministers come and go.
Managing Partner, Jacqueline Shicluna said "we are very proud of the firm's long history. It is a real testament to our constant efforts to provide an excellent service to our clients, both individuals and businesses".
